Crop Strips&Bermuda

for a very casual look i pieced together these stripped crop-top and bermuda high-waist shorts. i wore oxfords; however, afterwards i felt that these shorts (because they're long) should have been paired with heels or wedges.

these "resort" designs, a.k.a hawaiian flower, leafy prints were in last year to return again this summer. they pop out and are fun to wear.

Friends and a Birthday Celebration

Friends (Maco, Nana, Logan, Yoko, Taku, Yumi, Akiko, and Fuchan!) Thanks for coming out last night and wishing me a happy birthday! You're all so lovely. I have my own family here in Japan.

as celebration for my birthday, mikio took me to a performance of "the peacock", an interpretive dance performance of jealousy, love, freedom, death, sacrifice and forgiveness. it was beautiful and emotional. it was a birthday to be remembered. thank you, mikibabe

a favorite of mine is dunagrees. they're fun and cute, so to keep the cuteness of the outfit i paired it with a banana crop top found at a shop off takeshidori street. i wanted an extra feature for the outfit so i wore the plaid shirt to give it a pop and add some color, while loafers keep it cool and casual.

in the morning I had my Japanese class and filled the rest of the afternoon in search of a likable spot for a proper shoot. found an area tucked away in shibuya. it was quiet with optional backgrounds. the weather was overcast, but it turned out for a good day with me and my camera. after wards, i met up with chie. we hit up the NATURE DANGER GANG show, among other favorites like LEF crew. We had a great night.

last night's outfit for akiko's birthday party at aoyama's OATH. it was a beautiful day to be outdoors, so we went for a boat ride and a picnic lunch.

Pattern Mix

trying a mix of patterns can require a certain confidence. it may be a bit challenging to find the right kind of combination and adjusting our levels of boldness, but it can be quite fun and fresh to wear patterns in such fashion.

i was really excited to attempt this style. i decided to start with something small, like boarders and    plaid. you can a mix of floral and plaid. this would be a playful combination. keep in mind when mixing patterns the color scheme. you don't want mix colors that don't compliment each other. go and give it a try.

it wasn't exactly the best day for a shoot due to the wind, but i attempted nevertheless.

i'm particularly a huge fan of mid-flair skirts. they're timeless, as they are classy. i enjoy pairing something feminine with something masculine, like wearing oxfords and a camo clutch. mid-flair skirts can be paired with just about anything. for a more casual, relaxed look, i wear my converse and a tucked-in tee. you can dress it up with a nice shirt and heels. whatever the occasion, enjoy it in a "middy".
